ABOUT ABOUT

Connection Works presents Brooklyn Jazz Wide Open: Rob Garcia 4 and Paul Carlon's La Rumba is a Lovesome Thing

"A prime mover in the current Brooklyn jazz scene" (Time Out New York) and "a drummer of invention, grace and considerable fire" (Downbeat), Rob Garcia will lead his quartet as they perform his "thoughtful original music delivered with rare conviction." (Jazz Times)

Paul Carlon's Latin-side-of tribute to Billy Strayhorn, La Rumba is a Lovesome Thing, imagines the iconic composer as a rumbero in Havana, and tears through Strayhorn classics with a precise abandon born of years playing together.
