Brooklyn's Own, a series of new music curated by composer Daniel Felsenfeld to support the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, presents the A/B Duo, an incredibly versatile contemporary music duo. Flutist Meerenai Shim and percussionist Christopher G. Jones are constantly pushing the envelope and limitations of their instruments through new works and commissioned pieces.

The A/B Duo will present a mostly amplified genre-busting program of "bouncy, strange, interesting and fun" compositions including those written by Drew Baker, Adam Cuthbert, Ian Dicke, Carolyn O'Brien, Matthew Joseph Payne and Ivan Trevino.

The bi-coastal A/B Duo, comprised of percussionist Christopher G. Jones (Rochester, NY) and flutist Meerenai Shim (Campbell, CA), is committed to performing a variety of fun, intense and thought-provoking new works. Most of these compositions have been recently written for the A/B Duo and vary wildly in style and instrumentation from djembe and contrabass flute to Nintendo Gameboy and drum set.
Formed in Chicago, A/B Duo has been touring and commissioning new works since 2012. By the end of 2013, they will have performed in Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, and New York. A/B Duo will proudly premiere 10 freshly commissioned works from Drew Baker, Zack Browning, Andrea La Rose, Jenna Lyle, Ned McGowan, Carolyn O’Brien, Matthew Joseph Payne, Ivan Trevino, Francisco Castillo Trigueros and Ken Ueno during the 2013-2016 seasons.
A/B Duo's first recording project is a rock and roll and Gameboy infused EP of compositions by Ivan Trevino and Matthew Joseph Payne. "Things We Dream About" will be released on December 5, 2013.
